and friendly atmosphere. Situated in a peaceful rural location
amidst the beautiful lake and mountain scenery of Coniston, the
house is surrounded by our enchanting award-winning gardens.

bedrooms, oak-beamed lounge, cosy bar and superb breakfasts make
Wheelgate the perfect Lakeland retreat.
Entering the front
door into the lounge, you immediately feel at home; the oak beams
and panelling, low ceilings and slate fireplace combine to give
a warm, welcoming feeling that is the essence of Wheelgate.
The intimate and cosy
bar is ideal for a peaceful drink, or you can unwind after a long
day with a glass of complimentary sherry in the lounge, with its
fresh flowers and, on cooler evenings, a crackling log fire.
Our five thoughtfully-designed
bedrooms include a four-poster and a king-size or twin-bedded
room. All are en-suite with showers, and have colour TV (some
with teletext), tea- and coffee-making facilities, hair dryer
and radio alarm clock.
