Fair Rigg
was designed and built for the builder's own occupation, in the
heyday of Victorian architecture at the end of the 19th century,
a time when the full glory of the Lake District was being revealed.
The house enjoys a country setting, and yet remains within easy
walking distance of Bowness and the shore of Lake Windermere.
Designed to take full advantage of its hillside location, the
house has fine views, with most rooms looking out over fields
and trees to the lake and fells beyond.
